Although “Auld Lang Syne” can still be heard faintly in our ears, DPR Group has experienced a fair number of changes in just the first two months of 2014. Most notably, we have added four companies to our rapidly growing client list. To help support the expanding workload, we put out a call for potential new team members and received responses from close to 200 applicants. Our candidates were filtered through detailed writing and editing tests and a verbal interview to see if they had the skills to help support our vast array of technology and business clients. From a very strong field, two candidates emerged on top: Jason Lucas and Edward Lin.
Jason brings nearly eight years of broadcasting experience to DPR Group, thanks to a variety of positions he held in several newsrooms, including his recently completed two-plus-year stint as a sports reporter at Time Warner Cable News/News 14 Carolina in North Carolina. In 2005, Jason graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina and completed his master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2010.
Edward Lin graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in media and communications studies from the University of Maryland: Baltimore County. With a diverse background in international relations, blog writing, and the fashion industry, Edward brings a wealth of talent to DPR Group. In addition to his writing skills in English, Edward is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
Dan Demaree, president and CEO of DPR Group, said, “We are pleased to add two high-quality new staff members to the DPR Group team. I am always looking for people who can add value to our agency and Jason and Edward each bring their own specialized skillsets. Jason’s outstanding writing and communications skills are complemented by his broadcast journalism background and video editing skills, while Edward’s international background and fluency in Chinese add a new dimension to the team. It is clear that they will both have an immediate impact on our efforts to support our clients’ public relations, marketing and communications needs.”
Jason Lucas said, “I appreciate the opportunity to work at DPR Group because it gives me the chance to expand my knowledge of public relations and marketing, while working on a day-to-day basis in a challenging but enjoyable setting.”
On joining DPR Group, Edward stated, “DPR Group has an amazingly talented group of account executives with many years of experience in strategic public relations and marketing execution. This is going to be a great place for learning how to apply real-life PR strategies and tactics for our clients.”
As DPR Group grows, we will continue to look for highly qualified individuals to add to our team. If you think you could be a good fit, follow us on social media to be the first to know when we are hiring next: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+.
