The Quest Achieved: DPR Group Brings QuestaWeb to the Next Level

Overview

QuestaWeb was a premier provider of integrated, web-based global trade management software for importers, exporters, FTZ, brokers and forwarders. The company’s solutions have helped customers manage export and import processes, accelerate the flow of goods across the global supply chain, reduce inventory and operational costs, and ensure compliance with ever-changing cross-border regulations.

QuestaWeb was founded in 2001 as a small, New Jersey-based start-up. Over the next decade, QuestaWeb software achieved a significant market share among brokers and freight forwarders, due to its modular design, web-based deployment and ease of use. However, the company sought to achieve greater market penetration among importers and exporters for higher profit margins. 

To secure greater visibility in the marketplace and compete with other vendors that specialized in Global Trade Management, Questaweb needed to:

  • Position its executives as thought leaders in the fields of Global Trade Management and Foreign-Trade Zones
  • Elevate brand recognition by securing positive media placements in a variety of trade and industry publications.
  • Highlight its solutions by creating videos that could be shared with prospective customers and partners.

To achieve these goals, QuestaWeb sought support from an integrated PR and marketing company with extensive experience in the supply chain and logistics space. 

The Solution

In 2007, QuestaWeb selected DPR Group as its full-time PR and marketing partner. The two companies had previously worked together on a project basis to develop website content and sales materials, so Questaweb knew that the DPR Group team possessed the background and expertise needed for the job. 

DPR Group recognized that developing insightful messaging and high-value media placements were essential to generate more product recognition among major importers and exporters. DPR Group’s PR experts crafted messaging that emphasized QuestaWeb’s key differentiators and, within a month of contract signing, made an immediate impact by placing a major feature story about QuestaWeb in the Journal of Commerce

DPR Group quicky followed up by scheduling analyst briefings with Gartner Group, Forrester Research, Aberdeen Group, and ARC Advisory Group, among others. Then DPR Group reinforced those messages in the marketplace through a series of targeted press releases and online ads.

Results

Over a period of 14 years, DPR Group secured numerous, recurring media placements, including bylined articles and feature articles in IndustryWeek, Journal of Commerce, Supply & Demand Chain Executive, Managing Automation, Inside Logistics, Apparel Magazine, Smart Business and other high-profile publications. DPR Group also earned high-level media coverage for the company and a few of its well-known clients from various industries, including automotive, apparel, and musical instrument manufacturing. 

In addition, DPR Group successfully nominated QuestaWeb and its executives for honors such as Inbound Logistics’ Top 100 IT Logistics Providers award and Supply & Demand Chain Executives’ Pros to Know and other prestigious awards.

Merger & Acquisition

On March 1, 2021, Descartes System Group, the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that it had acquired QuestaWeb. This acquisition fulfilled QuestaWeb executives’ goal of being acquired and merging with a highly respected industry leader.
